If you have questions we have the answers

Qallify offer you a second number in our app.

Can I install the app on several devices?

Yes! However, if you want to use several devices at the same time, we recommend that you use different email addresses (and be assigned different phone numbers) when registering the app on each device. If you use the same email address account/phone number on several devices, only the last device to be properly registered will be associated with the phone number. This is due to the app being designed to be used on one device at a time with a certain email account/phone number.

You can however pay using the same credit card for several devices/accounts, say within a family or within a company.

Is Qallify expensive?

Our low minimum monthly fees and payment for what you use is made to minimize any recurring charges and to reflect our costs for connecting each call. We do not charge for incoming calls. Unlike many cell phone carriers that charge high per minute fees for long distance international calls, or while roaming in certain countries, we have adopted a low per minute price globally.

The price does not depend on where you are when calling, only what destination you are calling.

Our minimum monthly fee and calling rates are listed at qallify.com.

What are the advantages of Qallify-Qallify calls?

If both sides use Qallify to make and receive the call, both legs are encrypted to/from the data center in Sweden. If calling a non-Qallify number, it passes through different jurisdictions unencrypted which increases the risk of eavesdropping just like any classical phone call.

Are there any other costs than what is charged by Qallify?

Qallify uses your Wi-Fi (higher priority) or cellular (lower priority) connection for the calls. There may be data charges from cellular operators or ISP for those services. If you want to avoid any cellular charges, you can disable cellular data (thus only allowing Wi-Fi) in the settings menu. Then you can only use Qallify while connected to Wi-Fi.

Can I make emergency calls with Qallify?

We strongly advice you to make emergency calls with the phone’s built-in phone dialer instead of Qallify to ensure to get routed to the correct emergency call center and in compliance with any local requirements that differ in countries around the world. No functionality for emergency calls (112, 119 etc.) are guaranteed if made using the Qallify app. We will, however, attempt to connect the call with limited functionality to Swedish SOS Alarm – even if the call is coming from outside of Sweden. We plan to make several improvements of this functionality in future releases to ensure it becomes more useful in different situations.

How good is the voice quality with Qallify?

The speech codec automatically adapts to the current connection conditions. Essentially this means that the speech quality is usually excellent if you have a reasonably stable Internet connection (>50 kbps). If satellite, poor or narrowband connections (say 10 kbps) are used, the call will usually work to a satisfactory degree but with longer delay and somewhat degraded voice quality. Keep in mind that the quality and delay also depends on the other end’s connection and how the call needs to be routed across the world to connect the caller and called party. In our experience, the speech quality is often better than the corresponding international cellular connections.

When do I need to dial using international prefix?

Swedish fixed and mobile numbers can be called without a prefix from anywhere in the world, as Sweden is set as the default if no country code is added. However, all other destinations always require international prefix such as +1 (United States&Canada), +81 (Japan), +380 (Ukraine) etc. followed by the telephone number excluding any leading “0” in the local phone number. You can find a list of international prefixes at e.g. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_country_calling_codes

Can I call toll-free numbers?

Some toll-free numbers might work depending on the country if entered after the international prefix. However, with our attractive rates it should also be possible to use normal fixed numbers that are often provided as an international alternative. Swedish 020 numbers should work if dialed without any international prefix.

How good Internet connection do I need to use and how much data is used by Qallify?

The codec is highly adaptive to the connection quality and speech is compressed to minimize the required data usage. Calls might work down to as little as about 6 kbps. The best quality is reached from about 50 kbps. At this max quality 1 GB of data lasts for an estimated 20-40 hours of calls.

How can I cancel my Qallify service?

If you want to cancel your Qallify service, you can simply disable auto payments or stop topping up your account so that it expires. The account will automatically be disabled once the credits are used up. Please note that your phone number in this case may be released after 1 month, and we can not guarantee that it can be reactivated to your account after this. If you want to cancel the service with immediate effect, you may contact us with any of the methods mentioned at qallify.com and we will block your service as fast as we can. Note there are no refunds for any remaining credits.

What are the benefits of auto payments? How does it work?

With auto payments you do not need to worry about your account expiring/losing the phone number. Charges will be made to your account with some delay as you make outgoing calls. There is a minimum fee charged for each month if you have not made calls to reach this level.

The minimum auto top up amount is currently set to 50 SEK (about 4.9EUR) to minimize the frequency and transaction costs. This will be charged when the account is below a threshold (currently 20 SEK) to avoid any service disruption.

You can disable auto payments at any time by disabling the auto top up in the More/My Qallify menu in the app while your app is online.

How can I check my remaining balance?

You can find the current balance in the “More” button, then “My Qallify” in the app. This will display the current balance after a few seconds. It will also show if auto top-up is enabled.

Can I hide my phone number when making outgoing calls?

This feature is not supported directly from the app. Please contact our customer service through qallify.com if you want to hide the assigned phone number.

Can I remove/manipulate/change what phone number my call seems to be coming from?

This feature is not enabled by default/automatically as we need to confirm you are the rightful owner of such alternative number to enable it. Please contact us if you are interested in these features and explain why.

Can I get a refund if the app does not work?

All payments made are non-refundable for normal usage. However, if you believe you have been misled about the app or that it did not perform as intended, please contact us with your complaint. We will review your case and may refund or compensate you in other form.

I already have a Swedish phone number, fixed or mobile, with another operator, can I port that to the Qallify app?

Yes! It is a manual process and depends on the operator releasing the number (as they may refuse in case there is a remaining lock-in period). Once you sign up and activate the Qallify service, you will automatically be assigned a new phone number. Then please contact our support with what number you wish to replace it with and subscription details (who is the subscriber – name and personal number or organization number). We will then attempt to make a port-in request and if that is granted by the operator where you currently have a subscription, we will replace your initial Qallify number with the ported-in number. Expect the process to take about 2 weeks.

Can I transfer other non-Swedish phone numbers to Qallify?

You can normally set up call forwarding from such phone numbers to your Qallify phone number. Any fees for this call forwarding, if applicable, would be payable to your operator. Qallify does not charge anything for these calls. It is currently not possible to port-in non-Swedish numbers. Please let us know if there is a specific interest in additional countries, and we will look into it.

Where can I check my phone number?

Open the Qallify app, select ”More” (the three dots icon). There you will see your Qallify number under ”My Qallify”.
